Veterinary professionals invited to have their say in the UK's largest annual assessment of pet wellbeing

Over the years, PDSA’s vital research has highlighted the issues affecting the health and welfare of millions of UK pets through findings from their annual PAW Report.

The 2023 Report will assess how lifestyle changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and cost of living crisis have impacted and continue to affect the nation’s pets.

PDSA is inviting the veterinary profession to have their say on what they think are the biggest welfare issues affecting the UK’s pets by taking their online survey athttps://start.yougov.com/refer/vz7hC0lZ0d10nG . Vets, Vet Nurses and students have until 10 February 2023 to share their views on the issues affecting the health and wellbeing of UK pets today.

All entrants will have the chance to win a £100 One4all voucher, accepted in over 130 high street stores.

Rebecca Ashman, PDSA’s Veterinary Engagement and Communication Manager said: “The PAW Report provides invaluable insight into key areas of pet wellbeing in the UK. Lifestyles had to adapt and change through the pandemic, and now as we navigate a cost of living crisis, this research is more vital than ever before.”

Now in its thirteenth year, the PAW Report is an annual, nationwide survey that assesses the state of our pet nation. Produced in conjunction with YouGov, over 93,000 pet owners and veterinary professionals have completed the survey to date, and shared their thoughts on numerous matters affecting the pet population.

Rebecca added: “The Report helps us deliver a robust evidence-base for our campaigns and collaborative work, and enables us to track the impact of initiatives on the pet wellbeing issues which are of most concern to the veterinary profession. Our online survey, run in conjunction with YouGov, provides an excellent opportunity for everyone within the profession to voice their opinions and share their own findings.”

The key trends and insights gained from the PAW Report continue to inform PDSA’s vital work, helping to improve the health and wellbeing of the nation’s pets.

Rebecca added: “It takes less than 15 minutes to complete the survey, and by taking part you’ll be helping us maintain an accurate picture of the biggest welfare issues facing pets in the UK today.”
