PDSA will host a CPD programme aboard its mobile community outreach unit for the first time at this year’s VET Festival.  Among other activities, the charity, one of the UK’s largest employers of veterinary professionals, will run taster sessions on topics including ‘Quick, grab the crash trolley’ and decision-making in fracture repair, as well as discussing life in a PDSA pet hospital.

Other new features at this year’s VET Festival include an ‘Innovation Hub’, which will offer informal presentations, CPD and demonstrations from exhibitors on their latest products and services.  Sponsored by veterinary digital content specialist Vetstream, topics covered will include Canine Bowen Therapy, companion animal cancer research at the Animal Health Trust and tackling tricky HR issues.

The Royal Canin Dermatology Chillzone will offer delegates the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in veterinary diets to help manage cats and dogs with dermatosis.

VET Festival, now in its fifth year, combines inspiring, world-class CPD for the whole practice team with an outdoor ‘festival’ atmosphere.  The comprehensive clinical programme features globally recognised speakers who will share the latest insights and thinking in their areas of specialism.  Dedicated streams on nursing and on practice development and veterinary wellness complete the programme while a record 52 companies  will be showcasing their latest products and in a dedicated arena.

Commenting on the PDSA Vetwise Village, Donna Charway, PDSA Veterinary Events Manager said: “We are proud of our trailblazing innovations, including our annual PAW report into animal wellbeing and our PetWise MOTs, which are used across the profession to assess and promote improvements in animal welfare.  We’re looking forward to meeting VET Festival delegates this year and discussing the acclaimed leadership and people development programmes we offer to nurture veterinary professionals into the roles and career of their choice.”

Managing Director, Events Division, Fitz All Media Nicole Cooper said: “VET Festival always looks to do things differently and to offer our delegates new experiences and opportunities.  This year’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever and we can’t wait to welcome our delegates to Loseley Park in just a few weeks’ time.”

VET Festival is a CPD conference for companion animal veterinary professionals and is in its fourth year in 2019. Conceived by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick (Managing Director of Fitzpatrick Referrals), it was launched in 2015 at the University of Surrey before relocating to Loseley Park in 2016. VET Festival has presented many world-class speakers from across the world to make it the most engaging, clinically relevant and innovative CPD conference in the UK. Multiple lecture streams take place in a professional and contemporary atmosphere, which is combined with an exhibition arena for industry representatives.
