As the Tour de France powers through the French countryside, SPVS is inviting vets to take on a more relaxed, less lycra-clad version of Provencal pedal power with this year's Cyclescene CPD event. Taking place from 13-19 September 2015 in the picturesque Luberon Valley in Provence, this unique event combines fifteen hours of non-clinical CPD with five days of scenic cycling.

The CPD will focus on staff performance and development as well as how to navigate the tricky waters of employment law in order to manage under-performing employees. Speakers include Brian Faulkner of VetPsych, who is a veterinary practice consultant and confidence coach and James Cronin of Eight Legal, who is a veterinary employment law specialist. Between them they will cover everything from: learning how to feel comfortable and capable in command; dealing with challenge, adversity and potential for failure; having difficult conversations with clients or colleagues; the sources of turnover haemorrhage; and the seven secrets of employment law which veterinary managers must know.

While learning business changing practices from these two experts, delegates will be able to enjoy non-led local excursions in self-forming groups around the Luberon valley. There is something for everyone ranging from the iconic Mont Ventoux climb to the laissez-faire cafe culture of the villages lining the valley.

Price for SPVS members at just £975 for travel, six nights' half board accommodation and 15 hours' CPD, places are limited to 30 participants. To book youf place, please call the SPVS office on 01926 410454 or download a booking from from www.spvs.org.uk.
