Practice Network Rolls Out Nurse-led HealthCheck360 Model To Strengthen Preventative Pet Healthcare
inspiring vet care is launching a new nurse-led preventative healthcare service designed to help practices provide more personalised support for pets and their owners between annual vaccinations.
Launching across the UK and Republic of Ireland on 1 October 2026, HealthCheck360 is a longer, 30-minute nurse-led appointment which, in addition to the annual vaccination check-in, gives pets two separate health touchpoints each year, around six months apart.
The service has been developed in response to insights gathered from thousands of pet owners who said they wanted more personalised support between annual vaccinations and clearer guidance on how to help their pet's long-term health at home.
The initiative reflects a growing focus within the profession on earlier intervention and preventative care, recognising that annual vaccinations and parasite controls alone often do not provide enough time to fully discuss all aspects of a pet's health and wellbeing.
HealthCheck360 places veterinary nurses at the forefront of these conversations, creating dedicated time – 30-minute consultations – for practical coaching on nutrition, weight management, exercise, dental care, mobility and other age-related health considerations.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, each consultation is tailored to the individual pet, helping owners build confidence and develop practical skills they can use at home, from teeth cleaning and ear care, to managing weight, mobility and everyday wellbeing.
Lorna Dewdney, Regional Veterinary Director at inspiring vet care, and a small animal vet for almost 20 years said: "Preventative healthcare is most effective when it's personalised and built around a strong relationship between the practice team and the owner. HealthCheck360 has been developed in direct response to client insight which showed owners wanted more time, more tailored advice and more support between annual vaccinations."
"HealthCheck360 gives practices a practical framework for those conversations, while making better use of the skills and expertise of veterinary nurses. The aim is to support earlier intervention, help owners feel confident in day-to-day care decisions and strengthen the role of the whole practice team in preventative health."
Gillian Railton, Registered Veterinary Nurse at Kingston Veterinary Group, inspiring vet care practices in Hull and surrounding areas, who has been involved in the rollout of HealthCheck360 said: "Owners know their pets better than anyone, and these appointments give us the time to build on that knowledge with practical, tailored advice. Being able to talk through nutrition, dental care, behaviour, mobility and wider wellbeing in one longer consultation helps us support each pet as an individual."
"It's also a fantastic opportunity for us nurses to play an even greater role in preventative healthcare. Regular, structured discussions help us pick up small changes sooner, keep advice relevant as pets move through different life stages and build stronger partnerships with our clients."
The new service replaces the group's existing Wellness Screen programme, introducing a more structured, life-stage approach to preventative healthcare, leading to better outcomes for pets. Consultations are available for young, adult and senior pets, with enhanced screening options for older animals designed to support the early identification of age-related health concerns.
HealthCheck360 consultations start from £49 for young and adult pets, and £89 for senior pets (which include screenings), with discounted pricing available for Pet Health Club members. Consultations will be available to book online and through UK and practices from 1 October 2026, with Republic of Ireland practices being rolled out in waves.
