Ruth Gloster, based at the Goddard Veterinary Group in Putney, is raising funds for All Dogs Matter, a charity which rescues and rehomes dogs in London and Norfolk. The London Marathon will be her second marathon - she completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 2010. She comments: "I was a casual runner when I ran the Edinburgh Marathon but, since then, I've been bitten by the running bug and now run with the Clapham Chasers. After Edinburgh, I said I'd never do another one - but who could say no to a place in the London Marathon? She continued: " I train six days a week and love it! I've entered the Reading Half Marathon as a warm up and have been getting muddy at a couple of cross country races this Winter. It's tiring but I love my Sunday long runs past Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park."   As a vet, Ruth has a particular interest in feline medicine but she's running the Marathon for London charity All Dogs Matter. She said: "Every day at work I see dogs whose lives have been transformed through being rehomed. All Dogs Matter is a small, local charity which does fantastic work fostering and rehoming dogs and I hope my efforts in the London Marathon will help some more animals to find their happy ending in a loving new home." "I'm hoping to complete the race in three and a half hours so fingers crossed that I make it and don't get injured along the way. I'm looking forward to seeing all the sights and having the big crowds cheering me on. I'm also looking forward to a well deserved drink after the race!"
