Veterinary professionals are invited to join a free webinar on post-operative recovery and wound healing this July as part of a new educational Recovery campaign delivered by Select from NVS. Presented by veterinary nursing educator and Bandaging Angels founder Georgie Hollis, the webinar forms part of a wider programme of resources designed to help practices optimise healing outcomes, improve patient comfort and reduce post-operative complications.

The period immediately following surgery can have a significant influence on healing outcomes, yet recovery management often receives less attention than the procedure itself. From wound protection to patient comfort and owner compliance, small decisions during recovery can have a major impact on healing, welfare and the overall patient experience.

As part of the campaign, Select from NVS will host a free webinar presented by Georgie Hollis, founder of Bandaging Angels and a recognised veterinary nursing educator.

“Supporting Successful Recovery – Practical Strategies for Post-Operative Care and Wound Healing” will be available from 09:00 July 13th 2026. Veterinary professionals can watch the webinar at: https://thewebinarvet.com/webinars/supporting-successful-recovery-practical-strategies-for-post-operative-care-and-wound-healing

This webinar will provide a practical overview of post-operative wound healing, helping veterinary professionals distinguish between surgical site infections (SSIs) and other common causes of wound breakdown. Georgie Hollis will discuss the factors that influence healing, illustrate common post-operative complications and share best-practice approaches to wound protection, including dressings, bandaging, collars and recovery garments. The session will conclude with practical guidance on home wound management and how to encourage owner engagement to support successful recovery outcomes.

The webinar will form part of a dedicated online Recovery hub, which will also feature articles, blogs and a podcast focused on recovery and wound care.

The Recovery campaign aims to support veterinary teams with practical resources and guidance focused on post-operative care. The initiative brings together educational content, expert insights and recovery solutions to help practices support healing, reduce complications and improve patient comfort. The campaign is aimed at the whole veterinary team, with particular relevance for veterinary nurses involved in post-operative patient care, wound management and client support.

Central to the campaign is the Select from NVS Protective Post Op & Recovery Shirt range for dogs and cats. Designed to provide full-body protection following surgery or injury, the garments help safeguard wounds, sutures and bandages while allowing patients to remain comfortable and mobile throughout recovery. Offering an alternative to traditional recovery collars, the shirts are designed to help reduce stress, discourage licking and scratching, and support a positive recovery experience for both pets and their owners. The range is recommended by veterinary professionals and manufactured from breathable, high-quality materials to combine protection with comfort.

The campaign will also highlight complementary recovery products including Select from NVS bandages, bandage removal spray and recovery collars, helping practices create a comprehensive approach to post-operative care.

"Surgery is only one part of the patient journey. What happens during recovery can have a significant impact on healing outcomes, patient comfort and the overall experience for both pets and their owners,” said Zak Boffey, Trainee Category Specialist at NVS.

"Through the Recovery campaign, we're bringing together practical education and recovery solutions to help veterinary teams create the best possible environment for healing. By sharing expert insights and accessible resources, we hope to support practices in delivering excellent post-operative care and achieving the best possible outcomes for their patients."
