SPILLERS™ has promoted Sarah Nelson to Product Manager. She was previously the Research and Development Co-ordinator for the brand and having been with the business for 11 years, brings considerable knowledge and experience to the role.

Sarah joined SPILLERS in 2009 as a Care-Line Nutritionist. She took on the R&D Co-ordinator role four years later. Her role involved providing advice for horse owners, riders and vets on all aspects of practical nutrition, as well as delivering nutrition and product training presentations for SPILLERS associates, trade partners and horse owners.

Sarah has a passion for science and has supported a number of WALTHAM™ science projects, translating key messages into practical advice through science blogs and social media content. She works closely with Professor Pat Harris, who heads the WALTHAM™ Equine Studies Group, supporting the science behind the brand, to provide nutritional consultations for clinical cases. She will continue with this in her new role as well as being responsible for the technical management of all SPILLERS products. She will also work with Professor Harris to champion evidence-based practical nutrition knowledge and training, as a proud partner in care for horse owners in the UK.

A rider since the age of five, Sarah learnt the ropes on an unbroken Shetland pony. Despite this involving a number of involuntary dismounts she remained undeterred and became an active member of the Pony Club. She has ridden in Argentina and Finland and has tried her hand at polo and horseball.

Sarah said: “I’m delighted to be promoted to Product Manager and look forward to ensuring that we continue to deliver products and advice that help owners care for their horses and ponies in the best possible way, every day; something that has always been very close to my heart.”

Clare Barfoot RNutr, Marketing and Research and Development Director at SPILLERS said: “I’m thrilled that Sarah has been promoted to Product Manager and feel our precious products couldn’t be in safer hands!”

SPILLERS produces feeds to suit all types, including a range of superior fibres and balancers, Laminitis Trust approved feeds and BETA EGUS certified products.
