BEVA has introduced a Nurse Committee to guide BEVA on issues that are important to vet nurses working in equine practice. They will be highlighting the new initiative at the 60th BEVA Congress 7th – 10th September 2022 at the ACC, Liverpool.

The Nurse Committee, which currently comprises nine members and is chaired by Marie Rippingale REVN, will ensure BEVA gains a nursing perspective on all equine veterinary issues. Several members will be at in the BEVA Members Lounge at Congress on the Friday. They will be encouraging VNs to share their thoughts about the issues affecting them to help prioritise what the committee should focus on.

“I am delighted that BEVA has put together an Equine Nurses Committee and given equine nurses a voice,” said Marie Rippingale. “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to identify and address current issues, as well as to establish a clear path to push this profession forwards.  As a committee we are excited to get out and speak to other equine nurses and use the feedback to inform our focus and direction.”

BEVA Congress, Europe’s largest equine veterinary event, always has a dedicated stream for nurses. This year topics include:

·      Nursing across the world chaired by Rosina Lillywhite, with Sarah Baillie, Andrea Whittle and Yassin El Qmche;

·      Foal nursing chaired by Marie Rippingale, with Tullis Matson, Pat McCue, Andrea Whittle, Emily Floyd and Zoe Cross;

·      Nursing – human factors and me chaired by Imogen Comyn, with Catherine Auden, Helen and Silver-MacMahon;

·      Modern day nursing chaired by Rosina Lillywhite with Sarah Stoneham, Lindsey Schoelen, Gemma Pearson and Carolyne Crowe.

BEVA Congress is an unmissable opportunity for the profession to get together, listen and interact with leading practitioners, get updated on the latest clinical developments and hear perspectives from world-renowned specialists.

The inspiring programme, delivered by more than 150 speakers, including famous veterinary names from around the world, includes plenty of additional content for VNs beyond the bespoke nursing presentations.

There will be five live parallel streams, together with clinical research presentations, and stimulating workshops. The programme also includes one extra-green session on the first afternoon when a dazzling array of global leaders in the fields of infectious disease, imaging, nursing, reproduction plus sports medicine and rehabilitation, will be beamed into the lecture halls to present and debate virtually rather than travelling from all corners of the world to Liverpool.  In addition to this and numerous other initiatives to reduce the event’s carbon footprint a virtual stream will also be available live online. BEVA Congress will also be championing the diverse opportunities the profession offers and addressing some of the non-clinical challenges currently being faced.

Congress tickets provide access to all lectures, the exhibition hall as well as full access to the virtual congress hub. Virtual tickets receive full access to the virtual congress hub only. This year BEVA is also giving physical delegates access to all Congress content for six months after the event

For those that can't attend in person virtual ticket holders can access our live stream across the three days. This year BEVA is also giving all delegates access to all Congress content for six months after the event.
