Lorna Buckley with her Kindle Fire
Winner Of BEVA Competition Claims Her Prize
Lorna Buckley, a equine veterinary surgeon at the Cumbria-based Westmorland Veterinary Group, has won a Kindle Fire HD and a year's free subscription to the online equine clinical reference source Equis after entering a competition at BEVA Congress in September 2015.
The competition was held by Vetstream, a leading provider of digital clinical resources to the veterinary profession, with delegates asked to answer two technical questions on equine medicine, using Equis to find the answer. Equis, together with Canis (dogs), Felis (cats) and Lapis (rabbits) are peer-reviewed multimedia point-of-care encyclopaedias for veterinarians from Vetstream, featuring content from more than 900 leading veterinary clinicians from around the world. They are updated weekly and are accessible via any internet-enabled device.
Commenting, Lorna Buckley said: "I am delighted to have won the Kindle Fire and am finding the Equis service to be very useful, especially as I am a recent graduate. It's great to have such easy access to such a large database of information both at home, in the practice and on the road."
Dr G Mark Johnston, Managing Director of Vetstream, added: "We're delighted to hear that Lorna is finding Equis a helpful resource. It contains more than 5,000 articles, images and videos to help equine vets to offer the highest standard of care to their patients by giving them access to the latest clinical information whenever and wherever they need it. "
In addition to its online clinical reference resources, Vetstream provides Vetacademy, which offers e-learning modules and online videos from some of the world’s leading veterinary CE providers, including The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine, the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and Elsevier. Its Webpartner service specialises in the development of professional and accessible websites for veterinary practices and related businesses.
