COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis practical course is suitable for veterinarians from mixed and equine practice who are keen to develop and update their knowledge and especially their practical skills on medical ultrasound of the following anatomic region: Abdomen GI & non-GI organs (percutaneously & transrectally), thorax, eye, jugular vein etc.. The use of ultrasound for pleural drainage, for collecting biopsy samples and when working up foals will also be discussed.To participate in the On-Location Portion, attendees are required to have first taken part in the corresponding online Lecture Series Abdominal, Thoracic & Soft Tissue Ultrasound:If you have already purchased the Lecture Series independently of the On-Location Portion, please contact the office on [email protected] for a voucher code to reduce the price accordingly.The Online Lecture Series addresses the following hot topics via well-illustrated, case-discussions providing a platform for the panel of speakers to share pitfalls, erroneous clinical conclusions and useful tips and tricks:Gastrointestinal Ultrasound incl. fast localised exam in horses with colicUltrasound of non-GI Abdominal OrgansUltrasound-guided Biopsy TechniquesNon-Cardiac Thoracic Ultrasound (incl. Pleural Drainage)Ocular UltrasoundUltrasound Exam of the FoalMiscellaneous Medical Ultrasound Thrombophlebitis, choke, transrectal ultrasound etc.Open and frank discussions are encouraged during the course and the speakers will share their personal experiences with attendees, be it successes or failures.Day 1 starts at 15:00h with 3 hours of interactive Case-Discussions, Q&A which will give attendees the unique opportunity to apply what they have learned during Lecture Series in discussion with the world-renowned specialists. This will then be followed by the obligatory Wine & Cheese Reception allowing for attendees to socialise with colleagues and the speakers/instructors.On the second day, 7 hours of practical sessions will give attendees plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice on live horses and equine specimens and to ask questions in small groups (2 4 attendees / ultrasound machine), all under the supervision of specialists. To participate in the On-Location Case-Discussions & Practical Sessions, attendees are required to have first taken part in the Lecture Series (included in the price). Early course registration is recommended as there are only a limited number of places available due to the highly practical nature of this course.
