The RVC is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all our students so we may be required to make changes to course provision depending on the COVD-19 situation in the coming year. We will therefore not require payment until we are confident the course can go ahead. Please register your interest in attending by emailing [email protected] an ultrasound machine in your practice, but reluctant to use it to image the heart? Already doing abdominal ultrasound, but nervous to go north of the diaphragm?This course is designed to provide participants with the foundations required to perform a basic echocardiographic examination, and a protocol to follow to obtain standard two-dimensional echocardiography (2D echo) images. You will learn how to identify normal cardiac anatomy and normal variations on 2D echo, as well as changes seen with common diseases. This forms the backbone of all echocardiography. This is a two-day course with a month between day 1 and day 2 to allow you to practise in between!Why do this course?This course will provide you with the means to make clinical decisions in cardiac patients that are very challenging without echocardiography.Please note this is a popular course with limited spaces so book early to avoid disappointment.

The Venue
Our onsite courses are held at our Hawkshead Campus, near Potters Bar. We offer refreshments on arrival and during morning and afternoon break as well as a hot lunch. Accommodation is available should you wish to stay overnight on campus or we have a list of local hotels you can pick from. Hawkshead Campus is near Potters Bar Station (direct route from London Kings Cross) and the RVC operate a shuttle bus between the station and campus. Alternatively there is a minicab company at the station.
