Start time: 10:00 AM

This interactive one-day course will look at the predominate role of the RVN within dentistry. Nurses are involved in dental procedures day in and day out, however it is an area where a lot of us can lack confidence. Using lecture-based sessions alongside practical tasks and group work, this course will aim to boost your knowledge and confidence level to bring positivity to your dental suite and reduce stress levels, whilst optimising patient care.
Topics to be covered include:
• Anaesthesia considerations for the dental patient: Airway security, preventing and treating hypothermia and hypotension
• Analgesia for dentistry: let’s get multi modal! Including the use of constant rate infusions and local nerve blocks
• Creating and interpreting a completed dental chart
• Practical workshops to build confidence in performing a scale and polish of the teeth, whilst understanding the benefits and correct techniques required
Please note there may be cadavers used for demonstration purposes
