Over the past decade interest in Diagnostic Imaging in avian and exotic animals has evolved dramatically. This course has been designed for veterinarians in practice, working with avian and exotic animal cases, wishing to gain a higher level of expertise in different imaging modalities such as radiology, ultrasound and computed tomography. The course includes a review on radiographic positioning in small mammals, rabbit, ferret, bird and reptiles followed by review of normal radiographic anatomy of different apparatus. It continues with a review of the radiographic appearance of important pathologies in small mammals, rabbit, ferret and reptiles. Review of usage of computed tomography in exotic animal will be added during the lecture. On the second day, after an introduction to ultrasound in exotic animals, the 4-hour practical session will give delegates the opportunity to put theory into practice on exotic animals. The following topics will be covered during the practical sessions: Application of ultrasound in exotic animals, Practical session with review of abdominal structures in exotic animals, Case discussion including ultrasound and computed tomography.
