Patients with renal disease, both acute and chronic, make up a large percentage of veterinary caseload; it is important that the clinic is educated in gold standard care to increase quality of life for renal patients. This in-depth course will focus on renal physiology, the disease process, treatment and how to advocate preventative and palliative care. Guidelines of care will be explored, as well as covering pharmacology and advanced nursing skills, and case studies will provide an opportunity for discussion. Module 1 Renal physiology. Module 2 Acute Renal Failure. Module 3 Chronic Renal Failure. Module 4 Drug Interactions and Common Pharmacology Considerations. Module 5 Treatment; Choices and Considerations. Module 6 Basic and Advanced Nursing Skills.
