With three hours of lectures and four hours of practical tuition you will learn about nine different procedures then practice on cadaver specimens. Develop your surgical skills beyond wound repair and castration to further your career in equine practice and maintain control of your cases.

Day 2 (30 October 2025)
This problem-based interactive course aims to boost the delegates’ confidence in decision making, when performing the Equine Pre purchase examination. Using real case material the delegates will be challenged to give sound advice to potential purchasers. How worried should we be about that sarcoid, is the cardiac murmur significant, can the horse see, is it lame? Will the horse be suitable for the client and how should we report our findings?
Topics to be covered:
Understanding your client’s needs – arranging the PPE. Avoiding conflicts of interest – the ethics of the PPE.
How to perform a PPE.
Common problems that occur – skin, heart, eyes and limbs.
Extra procedures focusing on endoscopy and radiography.
Writing a PPE report
