This course will cover everyday topics, such routine sterilization procedures, as well as rarer conditions, such as urogenital tract tumours. We will also provide an important review and update about urolithiasis and obstructive disease of the urinary tract.
Trends in sterilization, including a shift from ovariohysterectomy to ovariectomy, from open surgery to minimally invasive approaches, and the difficult question of timing of sterilization, will be explored in an ‘open debate’ format.
There will also be a review of tumours of the urogenital tract and an update on obstructive urolithiasis, in particular management of cats with ureteral obstruction.
An interactive quiz will punctuate the didactic sessions to further illustrate points made.
The five key things delegates will learn from this course are:
* The evidence base supporting modern sterilization practices
* Surgical technique for caesarean section review
* An approach to tumours of the reproductive tract
* Management of obstructive urolithiasis in cats and dogs
* Logical problem solving in animals with surgical conditions of the urogenital tract
