Start time: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Cost: FREE
This focused two-day practical course is designed to help you integrate TPLO into your clinical practice with confidence and precision. You will explore the theory behind cranial cruciate ligament disease and the biomechanical rationale for TPLO, before moving into applied planning and surgical technique.
On day one, you will review relevant surgical anatomy, understand how to interpret and measure tibial plateau angles radiographically, and practise pre-operative surgical planning using implants and saw bones. Day two is dedicated to cadaver-based surgery, where you will apply your planning to realistic surgical situations and use radiographic imaging to evaluate post-operative alignment and outcomes.
This masterclass is ideal if you already have familiarity with orthopaedic fixation using bone plates and screws and want to confidently adopt TPLO as a reliable treatment option for cruciate-deficient stifles in practice.
Topics to be covered include:
Clinical decision-making in cranial cruciate ligament disease
Biomechanical principles underlying TPLO
Radiographic assessment and tibial plateau angle measurement
Pre-operative planning and implant selection
TPLO surgical technique and practical tips for safe execution
Cadaver-based practice to refine surgical approach
Post-operative radiographic evaluation and critique
Managing complications and optimising patient outcomesThis focused two-day practical course is designed to help you integrate TPLO into your clinical practice with confidence and precision.
