This course was developed to provide attendees with the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills of ultrasound image acquisition and interpretation of the upper front- and hindlimbs, the poll, neck, withers, back and pelvis. It is suitable for vets from equine or mixed practice who are keen to further develop their equine ultrasound expertise. This course covers the following topics systematically and via highly illustrated lectures:How to get the most out of your ultrasound machineUltrasonographic Anatomy & Conditions of the Elbow Joint Shoulder Joint & Bicipital BursaStifle Joint RegionHip JointThe Poll & NeckWithers & BackPercutaneous Ultrasound of the Pelvis & Sacroiliac RegionTransrectal Ultrasound of the Pelvis & Sacroiliac RegionScanning Techniques that facilitate recognition of musculoskeletal injuryThe panel of internationally renowned speakers/instructors has a wealth of experience and will share common diagnostic pitfalls, erroneous image interpretations, practical tips and pearls of wisdom open and honestly with the attendees. The 7 hours of practical sessions in small groups (2 4 vets per ultrasound machine) will provide the attendees with the opportunity to ask questions and to put their existing and newly acquired knowledge into practice, on both live horses and cadavers. The following anatomical regions will be covered during the practical sessions, supervised by the specialists: Shoulder joint & bicipital bursa, stifle joint region, poll & neck, withers & back, percutaneous ultrasound of hip & pelvis and transrectal ultrasound of the lumbosacroiliac region & pelvis.The course fee includes hot lunch, coffee/tea breaks, extensive electronic course notes and a certificate of attendance. Attendees can choose to only attend the live-streaming of the lectures (= Lectures Only/Live-Stream) on this course or can register for the entire course (= Lectures & Practical Sessions). Early course registration is recommended as there are only a limited number of places available due to the highly practical nature of this course.
