Start time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 16 hour(s)
Cost: £1600

Please note this course is delivered over two separate dates:
Thursday 22nd October and Thursday 3rd December

This two-day Echocardiography course is designed to provide veterinary professionals with a solid foundation in small animal cardiac ultrasound through a combination of lectures and extensive hands-on training. The course is delivered across two separate days, allowing delegates time to return to practice and apply their new skills in the clinic before coming back to consolidate their knowledge, refine their technique, and build confidence in image acquisition and interpretation.

This blended learning course includes:

- 2.5 - 3 hours of online learning before the course
- 13 hours of in-person teaching across two practical days
- Eight supervised scanning sessions
- Expert Teaching: All sessions are delivered by specialist veterinary cardiologists with experienced cardiology clinicians assisting, ensuring high-quality, clinically relevant instruction.

Outstanding Practical Support: During the scanning sessions, there will be a maximum ratio of one member of cardiology staff for four delegates, providing close supervision and individual guidance.

Hands-On Focus: Both course days include dedicated practical scanning sessions, allowing delegates to develop their echocardiography skills through extensive hands-on experience.

Learning Between Sessions: The six-week gap between the two course dates provides an invaluable opportunity to practise scanning techniques in practice before returning to further develop and consolidate skills under expert guidance.

Small Group Learning: Delegate numbers are limited to maintain an engaging, supportive environment with ample opportunity for discussion, questions, and individual feedback.

The course covers the fundamentals of echocardiographic examination in dogs and cats, including cardiac anatomy, standard imaging planes, image optimisation, chamber assessment, measurement techniques, and recognition of common cardiac abnormalities. Delegates will gain confidence in obtaining diagnostic-quality images and develop a structured approach to performing and interpreting echocardiographic examinations.

This course is an ideal starting point for veterinary surgeons looking to introduce echocardiography into their clinical practice or improve their confidence in cardiac imaging.
