A great opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon with 2–3+ years’ experience to join a friendly, supportive small animal team in Hertfordshire. This is a well‑established two‑vet practice looking to welcome a confident clinician to replace a colleague who is moving into referral work.
The practice offers a varied caseload, a loyal client base and a strong nursing team, with excellent facilities to support high‑quality first‑opinion work. With over 80% insured clients, you’ll have the freedom to work cases up properly and maintain high clinical standards.
The Role
This is a full‑time position working a 40‑hour week with one fixed day off (currently Thursdays). The weekend rota is 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, and there are no out‑of‑hours as this is covered externally. The practice is closed on Sundays.
You will enjoy a good balance of surgery and medicine, with the opportunity to develop your skills further. The team includes 3 RVNs, 1 VCA and a full‑time receptionist, ensuring strong support throughout the day.
Facilities include digital full‑body and dental radiography, therapeutic laser, Doppler ultrasound, a bespoke dental suite, and separate dog and cat wards and waiting areas. The practice is RCVS accredited and holds a Silver iCatCare award.
