Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for emergency and critical care? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-equipped 24-hour small animal hospital in Central London. This role offers the chance to deliver exceptional overnight care while leading a dedicated clinical team in a modern, supportive environment.
The Role
This permanent position follows a highly attractive rota of 7 nights on, 14 nights off, providing an excellent work-life balance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality emergency and critical care to hospitalised patients.
- Managing consultations, diagnostics and surgical procedures during overnight shifts.
- Providing clear and compassionate communication to clients.
- Creating tailored treatment plans and accurate cost estimates.
- Leading and supporting the overnight clinical team.
- Completing thorough clinical handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Promoting clinical excellence and best practice across the hospital.
Shift Pattern:
- 7 nights on, 14 nights off
- Monday to Sunday
- 7:00pm – 9:00am
- Weekends and Bank Holidays included when they fall within the scheduled working week
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.
- Have experience working in emergency and critical care settings.
- Demonstrate strong clinical leadership skills.
- Be passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care.
- Enjoy mentoring and supporting colleagues.
