Salary: £40,000 - £80,000 DOE | Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent
✨ An Independent Practice in Sussex are looking for a confident, compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, experienced team.
GVC is excited to be working with this independent, community-focused clinic that prioritises patient welfare, staff development, and a calm, fear-free approach to veterinary care. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique, cat-focused environment, where every patient is treated with the kindness, dignity, and respect they deserve.
The Practice
This practice opened 20 years ago and is one of only a few cat-only practices in the UK. Every detail of the clinic has been designed with feline and rabbit welfare in mind, from consulting rooms that allow cats to move freely, to a recovery ward that ensures warmth, comfort, and security.
Facilities include:
Dedicated surgical and radiography areas
Dental suite with digital radiography
Isolation area and pheromone diffusers for a calm environment
Modern diagnostic equipment, including ultrasound, endoscopes, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, and syringe drivers for accurate fluid delivery
The team is highly experienced and supportive, with a shared commitment to exceptional patient care. You’ll be joining a collaborative, friendly environment where your skills and input are valued.
The Role
This is a hands-on position where you’ll work primarily with cats (99%) and some small furries. Responsibilities include:
Providing high-quality first opinion care and surgery
Performing operations and consults (hours flexible)
Offering advice and support to owners, tailoring treatment options to each patient
Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members
Contributing to a positive, calm clinic culture
Hours & Salary
Full-time or part-time options available
No OOH duties except 1 in 4 Saturdays, 8am–2pm
Salary bracket of £40,000-£80,000 FTE DOE
30 days holiday (including bank holidays)

Be RCVS-registered with relevant experience
