One of East Anglia's longest-established referral centres has undergone a £1 million refurbishment to confirm its position as a leading regional centre for orthopaedics, spinal surgery and ophthalmology.
Grove Referrals, based in Fakenham, Norfolk, moved to its current building in 2001 during a restructuring of the original business partnership, a catalyst for a period of rapid expansion. In 2007 the practice was acquired by CVS (UK) Ltd, enabling the two founding partners, Gordon Brown and Simon Gilbert to remain rooted in clinical work as directors of the referral practice.
Planning for the latest expansion and refurbishment of the building, formerly the headquarters of a pea harvesting firm, began in 2010 and the work, undertaken in three phases, has just been completed in a total build time of 18 months. The entire project was overseen by ECVS diplomat James Tattersall, an orthopaedic surgeon at the practice. The facilities it now offers include:- Four consulting rooms
- Two digital radiography / imaging suites
- 16 slice CT scanner
- Three positive pressure sterile theatres
- Two preparation areas
- Upgraded and expanded in-patient facilities
- Practice laboratory
- Extended and refurbished staff and administration facilities
