Animal Friends Supports The Decisions Of Vets Regarding Referral Clinics
Animal Friends Insurance has no current or future plans to penalise or restrict customers who require veterinary referrals to specialist clinics, despite announcements made by RSA, the underwriters of 6 other pet insurance brokers including Tesco, More Than, Argos, Homebase, John Lewis and M&S.
In the wake of concerns from customers and vets over recent decisions by RSA, Animal Friends wants to assure customers and vets that we will not be taking similar measures. We support the recommendations of vets when it comes to choosing a specialist clinic. For us, the care of the animal is paramount.
To this end we even have a same-day claims payment system called Pawtal which clinics and surgeries can use for pre-authorisation requests and submitting claims. In 99% of cases we have settled claims the same day as submission and agreed pre-authorisations within an hour of being sent, directly with the vet. Measures such as this ensure that pets can get the treatment they need quickly and our customers can focus on the wellbeing of their pet rather than getting involved in perhaps lengthy, or at least more involved, procedures adopted by other pet insurers.
Founder and MD Elaine Fairfax said: “At Animal Friends we work closely with vets and their feedback is invaluable when it comes to honing our services and developing new technologies.”
Since its implementation Pawtal has won multiple awards and garnered excellent feedback from vets and customers.
