Imaging company BCF Technology are passionate about giving back to both local and veterinary communities.

Therefore, when they were approached by vets Brian Faulkner and Carolyne Crowe to sponsor them in their Ten2London mission, BCF were delighted to become involved.

With an ambitious challenge of running 10 marathons in 10 days, Brian and Carolyne covered the UK and Ireland before completing the final leg of their journey by taking part in the 2017 London Marathon on 23rd April.

Jason Rogers, Marketing Manager for BCF Technology commented:

This sounded like a crazy idea, who would run 10 marathons in 10 days? Just one is such an achievement! We definitely wanted to become involved and become sponsors.”

As vets, Brian and Carolyne are passionate about animal welfare and they wanted to raise funds for international animal welfare charity The Brooke, setting a target of £10,000.

Jason continued:

We found out one of their marathons was close to our global headquarters in Scotland and that made us think of how else we could support Ten2London. As we have a number of keen runners here, we asked if they would like some of our team to run along with them to provide some encouragement.”

So, on Easter Monday, as the two vets ran their 4th marathon which began in Dunfermline, continued across the Forth Road Bridge and finished at Edinburgh Castle, BCF staff members Kenny, Jillian, Kirk and Laurence joined them on their run!

Kenny Wallace, BCF Production Manager commented on the run:

The day with Brain and Carolyne was a lot of fun! As a keen runner, it was fantastic to have the opportunity to spend the day supporting such a great cause. They are going great considering this was run number 4 for them.”

BCF Material Controller, Jillian McDonald added:

As I was also running the London Marathon on Sunday, I didn’t want to run too far that week, but it was great to join the guys for a short distance. The rest of the BCF team did really well with Kenny running about 15 miles to the Forth Road Bridge and Kirk running the rest from the bridge. Laurence, who normally runs ultra-marathons, ran the whole distance. Carolyne and Brian are simply amazing running 10 marathons in 10 days!”

With their challenge now complete, the pair have already surpassed their £10,000 target however they want to raise as much as they can for The Brooke.
