BEVA Congress 2009 is back in Birmingham, a popular and central location with easy access for international delegates. Birmingham is a vibrant, multi cultural city with the youngest population of any European city. The city is a centre for the arts, shopping, partying and eating and the state of the art conference centre ideally located at its heart. Congress itself takes place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in the heart of the city, overlooking a network of historical canals and adjacent to Brindley Place, a busy area for eating and drinking. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, the historic town of Stratford upon Avon is only a short journey away, where you can visit the birth place of William Shakespeare Scientific Programme BEVA Congress scientific programme develops every year and builds on what has gone before. The programme is designed to offer as much to as many delegates as possible but without compromise on quality, rigour or depth. The programme does not shy away from controversial issues or rigorous debate and the delegate is guaranteed a comprehensive, stimulating and highly informative scientific programme. The lecture style and format is varied and will include, panel discussions, workshops, state of the art lectures, in depth, new ideas, controversial “light blue touch paper” topics and more. The Refresher tier will be of particular interest to those returning to or starting out in equine practice and those working in emerging countries whilst the tabletop discussion sessions will be of an informal workshop format. Most sessions will be of interest to all in general practice but the programme will also include several clearly branded “in depth” sessions that will have a narrow focus and cover cutting edge clinical science techniques and research. These sessions will be distributed across 3 main tiers over the three days of Congress The speakers will be drawn globally and the programme will have a strong continental European flavour.
