The Webinar Vet logo Members of the Webinar Vet have helped to raise just over £1400 for the Bella Moss Foundation (BMF) and Guide Dogs For The Blind. The funds have been ‘generated’ from vets who are members of the web-based CPD company, and who elected to give up their Christmas gift in lieu of a donation. Webinar Vet founder Anthony Chadwick explains: “All our CPD members had the option of either receiving a Christmas gift, or for us to make charity donation of £10 instead. With many opting for the latter, we have been able to donate £705 each to the two charities.” BMF founder Jill Moss is delighted with the donation: “The aim of the BMF is to improve knowledge of antibiotic-resistant infections in companion animals and livestock, and continued funding is extremely important in securing the future of the charity. “The Webinar Vet has been very supportive, and recently helped us organise a CPD webinar on MRSA/MRSP, by Prof. Scott Weese, of the University of Guelph, Canada.” The webinar, which was free to Webinar Vet stand visitors at the recent London Vet Show (LVS), was held in early December and generated a further £250 in donations for the BMF. The Webinar Vet, which was the first company in the UK to specialise in web-based CPD for vets, has taken the veterinary world by storm and now has over 500 members from around the globe. “Many vets came to the stand specifically to thank us for our innovative new way of doing CPD,” says Anthony, “whilst for others it’s still a new concept,” he adds. “The idea of being able to access quality CPD from the comfort of your office or home has caught on incredibly fast. With over 100 hours of CPD now available on the site to watch after the live event, it has become a significant resource for many vets. “We have also organised webinars for Royal Canin, Boehringer Ingelheim, Virbac and Vetoquinol, as well as hosting regular members' webinars on Thursday nights, all of which are recorded and can be viewed later,” he concludes.
