Dechra demonstrated that it was ‘Loud and clear, we’re all ears’ on its stand at LVS (London Vet Show) by showcasing its three first-line treatments for otitis externa and the company’s comprehensive Lifelong Ear Partnership resources to provide vets and owners with education, tips and support.

Four lucky vets and vet nurses won House of Marley bamboo double speakers worth £100 in an interactive memory game, which saw delegates learning more about first-line treatment options for otitis externa by matching the pairs on touchscreen displays.

Dechra understands the challenges that vet professionals face and provides them with the support and information they need to help the animals in their care with an emphasis on the ‘veterinary perspective’.  With this in mind, Dechra supported a wide range of CPD opportunities at LVS including an exclusive series of sessions featuring leading veterinary experts.  The four CPD sessions covered exciting topics of interest to companion animal veterinary professionals including Cushing’s syndrome in dogs, small animal sedation, otitis externa and client compliance to improve outcomes.  The sessions were presented by Emily Casey BVM&S MRCVS, veterinary technical advisor at Dechra, Dr Rebecca Maher MA VetMB PGCert MRCVS, managing director of InsideMinds Consulting, Toby Trimble BVM BVS BVMedSci MVM Dip. ECVAA MRCVS, RCVS and EBVS specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia and Dr Steve Shaw BVetMed CertSAD DVD PhD PgCAP FHEA MRCVS, clinical associate professor in veterinary dermatology at University of Nottingham.

Dechra also sponsored two of the main equine programme sessions during the event.  Nicola Menzies-Gow MA VetMB PhD DipECEIM CertEM(IntMed) FHEA FRCV, professor of equine medicine at Royal Veterinary College (RVC) presented a talk on ‘Evidence-based management of PPID and EMS’, while Philip Ivens MA VetMB Cert EM (Int. Med.) DipECEIM MRCVS European and RCVS Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine, presented a session on ‘Management of strangles on a yard’.

“LVS gave the Dechra team a fantastic opportunity to showcase our extensive product range, while providing delegates with cutting-edge educational support which can be utilised in practice during consultations,” comments Debbie Stanton, Dechra country manager UK and ROI.
