Dechra’s Libromide Is Back In Stock
Dechra has announced that Libromide® 325 mg, its treatment for refractory canine epilepsy in cases not fully controlled by phenobarbital alone, is back in stock and available from wholesalers.
Libromide is available in packs of 100 and 500 tablets. It contains potassium bromide and is licensed for use as an adjunct alongside Dechra’s first-line phenobarbital treatment, Phenoleptil® 12.5 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg tablets. Phenobarbital is well-tolerated and effective as a monotherapy in 60 to 80 per cent of dogs with idiopathic epilepsy1, however for the 40 per cent of dogs with epilepsy that cannot be controlled with phenobarbital alone1, Libromide can be used as a concurrent therapy. This combination can reduce seizure frequency and severity in dogs and can cut the mean seizure rate from 27.4 seizures to 2.2 seizures a month2.
“The Dechra team has worked exceptionally hard to bring Libromide back to the market and to the standard that our customers expect,” comments Tom Johnson, brand manager at Dechra. “We are delighted to now be able to provide our full range of products for the ongoing treatment and management of dogs with epilepsy.”
