The Dog Photographer of the Year 2009 competition is now open The Kennel Club is once again running its prestigious Dog Photographer of the Year Competition for 2009 and, has fabulous prizes for you to win! - all that you need is a camera and - of course - a love of dogs! There are four categories to enter: Dogs at Work Dogs at Play Dog Portrait Man’s Best Friend There is also a dedicated (free to enter) category for Under 16s entitled ‘I love dogs because...’ Entry to the competition costs £3.50 per person, with a maximum of four entries per person. Only one photograph may be entered in each category and the same photograph cannot be entered in more than one category. Any profit made will go directly to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (Registered Charity Number 327802) to help benefit the health and welfare of dogs. Entry into the under 16s category is free of charge. Dog Photographer of the Year 2009 online entry form The overall winning photograph from the 2009 competition and all the other category winners and runners-up will be displayed at Discover Dogs 2009 (14th to 15th November 2009 at Earls Court 2, London). The image will also be reproduced on the front cover of the special Photography Competition edition of the Kennel Club’s flagship publication, the Kennel Gazette, and the winner from each category will be presented with a framed print of their photograph. The winner of the Under16s category, along with their parent(s)/guardian, will also win a day out with professional dog photographer, Marc Henrie, in addition to the framed print. Closing date for the competition is 31 August 2009.
