Only a few places remain for the equine veterinary profession’s legendary educational jamboree in the snow this season, which is sponsored by Veterinary Specials manufacturer BOVA UK.

The course, which runs from 14th to 21st January 2017, combines CPD lectures from internationally renowned speakers with some down time on the slopes of Les Arcs in France. It equates to 13.5 hours of formal CPD.

Carolyne Crowe veterinary coach and mentor will explain how to survive and thrive in equine practice and how to engage and optimise the practice team. Paul McFarlane of Langford Vets will offer tips for general anaesthesia and discuss the multi-modal management of pain. Professor Roger Smith of the Royal Veterinary College will discuss the diagnostic imaging of the digital flexor tendon sheath and soft tissue pathology of the tarsus. Brian Patterson of Ophthalmology Referrals will take a look at ophthalmology and corneal disease and Henry Tremaine of B&W Equine Group will take a look at laser surgery. There will also be a quiz on ethical fitness to practice.

The informal week is good value way to obtain high quality interactive Continuing Education.  In addition, there is the bonus of improving winter sports skills and meeting new colleagues.

BOVA UK is premier sponsor for the first time: Nick Bova, Managing Director of BOVA UK said: “Helping horse vets to achieve a better work/life balance by giving them the opportunity to gain their CPD points in a relaxed and friendly environment is great for mental health and wellbeing. We are pleased to be able to support the profession in this important way.”

The Ski-PD will be held from 14th to 21st January 2018 at the Chalet Hotel La Foret, Les Arcs, France. Limited places are still available: to book please contact [email protected] or for conference information please contact [email protected]
