Wormwise will include Milly, Max and their wiggly enemies hitting shopping centres to convince pet owners to visit their vets for deworming advice

BASINGSTOKE, UK, October 10 – Elanco Animal Health’s new Milbemax® campaign, Wormwise, hits clinics this month (and later this year, shopping centres!) in a drive to get pet owners to visit clinics to properly assess their individual pets risk of worms and talk to their vet about optimal deworming frequency.

Elanco are pulling in Milly the cat and Max the dog to help pet owners understand the changing and growing threat that tapeworm, roundworm and lungworm pose across the UK and Ireland. At the heart of the campaign is the mantra ‘being Wormwise is E.A.S.Y’, which breaks into four simple steps:

Educate…yourself about worms Assess…your pets’ risk Seek…advice from your vet

You…can take worm control to the max

Elanco hopes to support vets and vet nurses to keep deworming advice simple by providing new materials for veterinary and clinic staff featuring Milly, Max and their E.A.S.Y message. Later in the year and throughout 2018, there are plans to take Elanco’s furry campaigners and various wormy activities to major shopping centres throughout the UK to ‘disgust and delight’ shoppers. They are also likely to pop up in all sorts of other PR activities and clinic ‘activations’ throughout the year, with Elanco aiming to keep worms front of mind.

“The risk of infection with worms has increased for a variety of reasons, and we know that many owners are not deworming enough,” said Veterinarian Victoria Sumpter; Companion Animal Technical Marketing Manager at Elanco UK & Ireland. “Wormwise will build over the next few months and is all about getting owners to visit vets and helping clinics to have more constructive deworming conversations in a fun and accessible way.”

For further information on the campaign, please contact your local Elanco Animal Health territory manager.
