Equine Vets Invited To Build Communication Confidence And Clinical Influence
Free training day aims to empower veterinary surgeons with a blend of practical communication techniques and internal mindset shifts
Leatherhead, UK – May 14, 2026 – Zoetis Ltd is inviting Equine veterinary surgeons to a powerful new training day designed to strengthen consultation skills, improve client compliance, and build lasting professional confidence.
Confident Communication in Equine Veterinary Practice aims to deliver a practical, psychology-driven programme, focused on helping vets communicate recommendations more effectively - and achieve better outcomes in practice.
Split into two focused sessions, the day will combine real-world consultation strategies with insights into the psychology of confidence, giving delegates tools they can immediately apply in clinical settings.
Morning Session: Pursuing Compliance With Your Recommendation
The morning programme will focus on helping vets guide clients more confidently towards appropriate clinical decisions, covering:
- The four outcomes of successful visits/consultations
- Articulating clinical strategies succinctly
- Discussing the ‘pros, cons and costs’ of options succinctly
- Helping clients understand options and reach an informed decision
EHV Survey Insights
Delegates will also hear from Dr Wendy Talbot National Equine Veterinary Manager at Zoetis, who will present findings from the Equine Herpes Virus Horse Owner Survey Results 2025 - offering valuable insight into owner attitudes, behaviours and communication challenges surrounding EHV.
Afternoon Session: The Psychology of Confidence
The afternoon will explore the internal factors that shape professional confidence and performance, including:
- Definitions of confidence
- Understanding the link between self-doubt and confidence
- The difference between doubt and self-doubt
- Mindsets that enable or undermine confidence
- The surprising impact of language on facilitating/undermining confidence
Designed specifically for equine veterinary professionals, the training day intends to be a practical experience aimed at improving both consultation effectiveness and personal resilience in practice.
The training day will be held at the ORIDA Hotel, Oxford Road, Newbury, RG20 8XY on 24th June 2026 from 10am to 4.30pm.
