Clare Rushton has been appointed to the position of Staff Clinician at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. Graduating from Bristol in 2005, Clare worked in small animal practice for several years before joining the company. Clare is now one of five vets working within the Veterinary Affairs team headed up by Adrian Pratt, Veterinary Affairs Manager, joining Tim Dobbins, who was recently promoted to Associate Veterinary Affairs manager and Veterinary Territory Managers in Ireland Ciara Feeney and Meghan Ryan. The company Managing Director is also a veterinary surgeon, ensuring that the profession is well represented within Hill’s.
Says Clare, “My new job as staff clinician is very exciting and different to anything I have done before. I will be working on the Hill's Technical Enquiry Line and as part of the veterinary affairs team. The techline is a free information service available to all vet practices that need help with clinical cases and we receive thousands of calls every year. Running the techline is interesting and challenging as the cases can vary from helping a nurse with weight watchers calculations, to helping a vet select the correct diet for a diabetic cat with renal failure. Every call to the techline is treated as an individual case and the caller will receive tailored advice.”
