Improve International Adds Events And Publishing To Complete Its Veterinary Education Offer
Improve International, a global leader in veterinary CPD, is to extend the range of learning formats it offers to veterinary professionals to include congresses and publishing.
Improve, already known for its modular postgraduate certificate programmes and short courses, is to take over the delivery of the popular regional veterinary conferences, VetsSouth and VetsNorth from 5m Publishing, a division of Benchmark Group, Improve’s parent company. Improve will also move into publishing with the launch of a range of textbooks for delegates on its certificate programmes and take on the management of monthly veterinary title Veterinary Practice.
The future development of Improve’s congress and publishing business will be led by Dr Aram Diez. Dr Diez, a graduate in Veterinary Science from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, has been working in veterinary publishing for 12 years. His achievements include editing Spain’s leading veterinary magazine, Argos, and leading a range of international training projects and events.
VetsSouth, an annual two-day congress in Exeter, and VetsNorth, which takes place in Manchester, have built a reputation as events offering convenient access to the latest learning to veterinary professionals in the South West and North West of the UK.
Improve’s range of textbooks have been designed to offer additional support to its delegates as part of Improve’s blended learning approach. The company says that they will complement the lectures, practical sessions and online resources offered on its programmes, encouraging delegates’ retention of information through self-directed learning. They will also provide a useful reference source for other veterinary surgeons and support their daily practice.
One of the world’s leading veterinary training companies, Improve International is celebrating its 21st anniversary during 2019. Founded by a team of UK vets, the company has trained more than 20,000 veterinary professionals in 20 countries around the world. In the delivery of its programmes, it works closely with its assessment partner, the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS), and with Harper Adams University, which provides the higher education body quality assurance.
Commenting on the move, Dr Heber Alves, International Director at Improve International, said: “Through our long experience of working with veterinary professionals, we know that offering a choice of formats to suit all learning styles is the most effective way to support them in developing their careers.
“Some veterinary professionals wish to build their knowledge in a particular field, for instance, through undertaking a certificate programme while others prefer to keep up with best practice across the wide spectrum of general practice. Utilising the comprehensive range of educational resources across all formats we can now offer, we look forward to helping vets and vet nurses meet their career goals and to enhance the outcomes they achieve for their patients.”
Part of Benchmark Plc and based in Swindon, with an additional facility in Sheffield, Improve International provides high quality CPD in a range of formats for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to help them to develop their skills and knowledge, using a combination of review lectures, case-based discussions and where, applicable, hands-on practical sessions.
