The queue to enter an IVC Referral event at this year's London Vet Show
Independent Vetcare Referrals CPD Stream Goes Down A Storm At LVS 2018
Following the success of the Independent Vetcare referral CPD stream at LVS in 2017, vets from across the IVC referrals network again presented a full day's worth of CPD lectures on the first day of London Vet Show last week.
With eight speakers covering topics such as “Brachycephalic airway surgery”, “A guide to cruciate disease for the first opinion practitioner” and “The vestibular patient”, it is perhaps not surprising that many delegates struggled to get in to hear lectures due to their popularity.
“Despite the 200-seat capacity, there were several occasions when we had to turn away over 50 delegates at a time from the IVC Referral stream lecture suite. Something none of us wanted to do and we are already in discussion with organisers to see if we can increase capacity for next year,” said Chris Trickey MA VetMB MRCVS, IVC Group Veterinary Advisor for Referrals.
Jamie McClement BVSc, CertSAS, MRCVS RCVS, Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery & Clinical Director at Abington Park Veterinary Referral was one such speaker whose talk was in demand. “It was great fun to present to such an enthusiastic group of delegates, and rewarding to see the response. The London Vet Show is a highlight of the year for me, and I’d love to be back in 2019.”
