Ceva Animal Health UK, manufacturer of the leading veterinary behaviour products, Feliway® and AdaptilTM (previously known as DAP®), has announced that renowned media vet, Joe Inglis, will be a guest speaker and presenter at the inaugural Ceva Awards for Animal Welfare ceremony, which will take place during WSAVA/BSAVA/FECAVA Congress in Birmingham in April 2012.
With regular spots on The One Show, Live with Gabby, This Morning and the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Joe made his name in the highly successful BBC1 series Vets in Practice, which ran for 11 years. Joe has also written a number of books and writes a regular column for The Metro newspaper. He has also written columns and supplements for the Mail on Sunday and The Guardian, to name but a few.
Joe, who sits on the judging panel and will be presenting two awards at the ceremony, comments: “I’m really excited to be a part of the inaugural Ceva awards. As a vet and pet lover, animal welfare is a subject very close to my heart and to be able to help honour the work of my fellow veterinary professionals in this area will be a great privilege.”
Ceva’s new awards initiative will formally recognise veterinary professionals and individuals who have gone the extra mile to improve animal welfare both in practice and beyond. It aims to highlight the educational and practical role that veterinary professionals and individuals play in preventing and reducing welfare problems.
“The Ceva Awards for Animal Welfare provide us with an opportunity to honour the unsung heroes - people who are passionate about companion animal welfare and have really gone the extra mile to help animals,” says Kirsti Hummel, communications manager at Ceva Animal Health UK. “We are delighted that Joe has agreed to join us for the inaugural ceremony, which we are sure will be a fantastic success.”
