Join Industry Experts At Dechra’s Exclusive CPD Sessions At LVS
Dechra is hosting an exclusive series of CPD sessions at the London Vet Show (LVS) on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 November featuring leading veterinary experts.
The four CPD sessions cover an exciting range of topics of interest to companion animal veterinary professionals including Cushing’s syndrome in dogs, small animal sedation, otitis externa and client compliance to improve outcomes. The sessions take place in Gallery Suite 17 and the details are:
- 11:00 to 11:50 on Thursday 14 November - ‘The three things about Cushing’s I wish I’d known sooner’, presented by Emily Casey BVM&S MRCVS, veterinary technical advisor at Dechra
- 14.00 to 14.50 on Thursday 14 November - ‘The compliance dilemma: a practical approach to helping clients improve outcomes’, presented by Dr Rebecca Maher MA VetMB PGCert MRCVS, managing director of InsideMinds Consulting
- 11.00 to 11.50 on Friday 15 November - ‘Small animal sedation: turning chance into predictability’, presented by Toby Trimble BVM BVS BVMedSci MVM Dip. ECVAA MRCVS, RCVS and EBVS specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia
- 14.00 to 14.50 on Friday 15 November - ‘Otitis externa: a practical framework to support antimicrobial stewardship and successful outcomes’, presented by Dr Steve Shaw BVetMed CertSAD DVD PhD PgCAP FHEA MRCVS, clinical associate professor in veterinary dermatology at University of Nottingham
The CPD sessions are first come, first served, and are expected to be well attended, so please get there early!
Dechra will also be sponsoring two of the main equine programme sessions at LVS. Between 10:30 and 11:20 on Thursday 14 November, Nicola Menzies-Gow MA VetMB PhD DipECEIM CertEM(IntMed) FHEA FRCV, professor of equine medicine at Royal Veterinary College (RVC) will be presenting ‘Evidence-based management of PPID and EMS’ in RVC Equine Theatre 2, while Philip Ivens MA VetMB Cert EM (Int. Med.) DipECEIM MRCVS European and RCVS Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine, managing director of Buckingham Equine Vets will be presenting ‘Management of strangles on a yard’ between 13:30 and 14:20 in RVC Equine Theatre 1.
During LVS, visitors to Dechra’s stand (stand P30) will be able to learn more about the company’s extensive otitis externa range which includes three first-line treatments consistent with the BSAVA/SAMSoc PROTECT ME guidelines which encourage a move away from using antimicrobials for all first-line cases, and use of appropriate antimicrobials, where these are required. There will be several interactive elements on the stand including a ‘Loud and clear, we’re all ears’ augmented reality (AR) screen enabling an assortment of ears to appear on the heads of delegates on displays with the opportunity to download the image via a QR code. An interactive memory game will also take place on the stand. Delegates are guaranteed a prize by playing the game and learning more about first-line treatment options from matching the pairs on the touchscreen displays.
