Juroxs Fearless Feline And Confident Canine Anaesthesia CPD Series Now Accredited By The AVA

Jurox (UK) Limited’s ‘Fearless Feline and Confident Canine Anaesthesia’ evening CPD series has now been accredited by the Association of Veterinary Anaethetists (AVA).
The AVA accreditation ensures that the course/training programme meets the standards of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists to help educate veterinary professionals on best practice anaesthesia.
The meetings, which take place from the end of September to the beginning of October are split into two one-hour sessions with a three-course meal being served throughout the evening. The first session will cover anaesthesia in the geriatric cat, specifically focusing on patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), hyperthyroidism, respiratory disease and feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This will be followed by an interactive, case-based session highlighting best practice anaesthesia for the canine c-section, dogs with gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), the brachycephalic patient, dogs diagnosed with cardiac murmurs and the ‘aggressive but healthy dog’.
The meetings are hosted by Jurox’s team of field-based veterinary surgeons, all of whom are trained by veterinary anaesthesia diplomats, are members of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) and many of which work as locums in practice. The main content of the meetings are delivered by RCVS Specialists and European diploma holders in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

- Thursday 22 September at Haigh Hall, Wigan, Lancashire presented by Matt Gurney BVSc CertVA DipECVAA MRCVS and Lee Strapp BVetMed MRCVS
- Wednesday 28 September at Barnsdale Hall Hotel, Oakham, Rutland presented by Joanne Michou MA VetMB Dip.ECVAA MRCVS and Jayne Clark BVSc, BSc(Hons), GPCert SAM, MRCVS
- Thursday 29 September at Hamilton Park Racecourse, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire presented by Matt Gurney BVSc CertVA DipECVAA MRCVS and Karen Heskin BVSc CertSAO MRCVS
- Tuesday 4 October at Madejski Stadium, Reading, Berkshire presented by Jo Murrell BVSc PhD CertVA DipECVAA MRCVS and Michael Unsworth BVetMed MRCVS
- Thursday 6 October at Bailbrook House Hotel, Bath, Avon presented by Jo Murrell BVSc PhD CertVA DipECVAA MRCVS and Lizzie Barker BVetMed(Hons) CertAVP (VA) PgCert MRCVS
Each place costs £35, however there will be 30 subsidised places at £20 per head which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
