Leading Orthopaedic Expert Joins North Downs Specialist Referrals

One of the country’s leading orthopaedic experts has joined the internationally-recognised animal hospital North Downs Specialist Referrals (NDSR).
Elvin Kulendra has joined the Surrey-based referral vet hospital from the Royal Veterinary College, where he was senior lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedics, clinical lead for the Total Hip Replacement programme and Deputy Head of Orthopaedics.
Mr Kulendra regularly lectures nationally and internationally and is currently national and regional faculty for Animal Orthopaedics.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and contributed to a number of books.
He is also the education chairman for the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association and is responsible for the organisation of its scientific meetings each year.
He graduated from the RVC in 2006, has completed a masters in feline tarsal injuries and has also completed his RCVS certificate in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
Mr Kulendra became a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery in 2012 and is also a European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. His clinical interests include total hip arthroplasty and the use of 3D printing to treat orthopaedic conditions and trauma.
Hospital director Terry Emmerson said he was delighted to welcome Mr Kulendra to the orthopaedic team at NDSR.
He said: “The arrival of Elvin will further strengthen our dedicated, orthopaedic service as we continue to recruit the best possible staff to provide the best possible care and treatment for our patients and the best possible service to our referring vets and clients.”
North Downs, which is based in Bletchingley, near Redhill, recently invested £2.5m on a spectacular new extension to deliver expanded facilities including a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging suite complete with MRI and CT scanners.
