Are you searching for that ‘loving feline’ this Valentines Day? If so, look no further than the UK’s leading feline welfare charity!
With thousands of cats and kittens in Cats Protection’s care at any one time, the charity wants to help create an ideal love match and find you that special feline companion.
Research by The Blue Cross* in 2005 found that the main reason people own cats is for companionship and love. This backs up a recent survey by Cats Protection that cited affection (57%) as the number one reason for liking cats, followed by their independence (49%) and cleanliness (46%).
"Cats make very affectionate pets,” explained Betty Boud, Manager of the Adoption Centre at Cats Protection’s National Cat Centre, based in Sussex. “They fit in well with modern lifestyles because they are very independent but still give you plenty of love. Valentines Day provides the perfect opportunity to get some love in your life by offering a gorgeous rescue cat a home!”
