The company behind the natural skin and coat supplement for dogs, Yumega, has been short-listed for a prestigious business award.
Meeting customers at major events is an important aspect of Lintbells business
Lintbells, whose portfolio also includes Yumega Plus and the mobility supplement Yumove, is one of five finalists in the Small Business of the Year category of the Hertfordshire Business Awards 2010. The winner will be announced at a gala event later this month.
Co-founder and Director John Davies said: “We are a young company and this is the first time we have been nominated for such an award. To have made it to the final short-list at the first time of trying is very exciting as we know we are competing with some very strong and successful local firms.”
The nomination comes at the end of a very rewarding 2010 for Lintbells, who are based near Baldock, Herts, with new product introduction and exports seeing a huge boost following the company’s push into new markets including Germany, Italy and Greece. Earlier in the year the firm saw increased sales of Yumega after it emerged that the supplement is a regular part of the diet of the winner of the Cruft’s Best in Show title, as well as that of 70% of the highest placed dogs at the event.
John Davies added: “To be recognised as one of the best performing small businesses in Hertfordshire is a tribute to the hard work of the whole team at Lintbells, as well as the success of our range of nutritional supplements and our commitment to excellence. One of the areas we have been judged upon is customer service; something that we feel is one of the most important aspects of the business.
“We are delighted to have reached the final stage of the competition but we know the other companies taking part are extremely strong contenders and some have previously done very well in these awards so we will await the judging panel’s decision with interest.”
The winners of the awards, which are organised by a local media group, will be announced on November 25th when BBC Breakfast presenter and winner of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2009, Chris Hollins, will make the presentations at the awards night in Knebworth.
