Well known Labrador breeder, pedigree exhibitor and Brigburn kennel owner, Lynda Heron has joined the team at Croft Vets. Lynda Heron joins the team at Croft Vets In a dual role, Lynda is acting as practice liaison manager, as well as holding a very active position in the canine reproduction team. Having founded in the Brigburn Labrador Retriever kennels in Longframlington 26 years ago, Lynda is well placed to deliver a knowledgeable service to owners of other local vet practices and owners of pedigree dogs interested in breeding. With her practice liaison manager hat on, Lynda will be visiting other vets in the area, liaising with them to make they get the best out of the referral service offered by Croft. She will also be ensuring that all vets and pet shops in the region are aware of the Accident and Emergency department at the pet hospital which offers services around the clock every day of the year. Lynda said: “I have a real passion for ensuring that dog breeding and veterinary care is of the highest possible standard and having dealt with Croft for a number of years, I am aware of the lengths they go to, in order to tick all the boxes. “With that in mind I really enjoy liaising with other animal service providers around the region about how they can benefit from a link up with Croft. “It is also an exciting time to be part of the reproduction team, as we are now in a position where a number of pedigree puppies are starting to arrive, and it is very satisfying knowing you have assisted in the success.” Croft Reproduction is a specialised canine reproduction service. As part of this service, which includes pre-breeding testing, management of the bitch’s cycle, artificial insemination and management of pregnancy, Croft also runs a comprehensive semen collection service. Lynda works closely with Judith Joyce, managing partner of Croft, who said: “Having someone with Lynda’s breeding experience and background is a real boon. On the business front she knows a lot of people across the region and can carry the key messages of what we offer perfectly. “Louise McLean, who has a wealth of knowledge on the reproduction topic, heads up the artificial insemination service working alongside me and having Lynda as part of that team too adds a long established skill to the mix. “This reproduction service is something that we have been working towards for a long time, and now we have the first class facilities in the new state of the art hospital in Cramlington we are full steam ahead working with colleagues worldwide in a bid to be the premier canine reproduction service.” Founded 22 years ago by Malcolm Ness and Judith Joyce, Croft Vets also has nine other branches across the region including Blyth, Ashington, South Gosforth, Gosforth, Monkseaton, Walkerville, Cramlington, North Shields, and the Newcastle Cat Clinic in Jesmond.
