Pilgrims Veterinary Clinics become the 100th and 101st veterinary practices to join the Medivet Veterinary Partnership. Based in Dartford and West Kingsdown, the practices will be joining the Medivet family of a team of over 200 vets. ‘We are delighted to welcome the Pilgrims group’ says senior managing partner at Medivet, Arnold Levy. ‘Medivet was founded in 1986, and we have been growing steadily ever since. Our model is based on acquisition or partnership with existing practices. That means we are still entirely vet owned and vet managed – and I strongly believe this traditional partnership model is the reason for our success.’ Medivet senior partner David Abratt agrees that becoming part of a large team is an asset. ‘The biggest benefit of being part of Medivet is the sharing of expertise right across the group. I also have resources that I would otherwise have struggled to access, such as the latest in veterinary diagnostics, and a dedicated 24-hour centre. Because of this, I can be confident that I am providing the highest level of care to patients.’ For partner Paul Morton the benefits have been both personal and professional. ‘Joining Medivet has enabled me to become a partner in my own practice. That’s been good both on the financial front, and in terms of improved job satisfaction. The Medivet Support Centre deals with the legislation, human resources and regulations. For me, that has removed the stress of dealing with the administrative side of partnership, enabling me to concentrate on what I enjoy – being a vet!’ ‘We invest alongside our partner practices,’ explains Arnold Levy. ‘We share the cost of investment for new equipment equally, and we share the profits equally. This has been a consistently successful approach for us. It’s given our group the resilience to thrive whatever the competition, or the state of the economy,’ he adds. ‘We are very pleased that the Pilgrims Veterinary Clinics has joined our growing team, and we wish them every success,’ says Arnold Levy. ‘We want to be known for delivering the most accessible, comprehensive, high-quality care. That aim is built into our partnership structure, and it’s the driving force behind our work as vets,’ he concludes.
