A new free veterinary education resource has been launched - called web-vetneurology.com - which provides up-to-date information to vets and owners looking to diagnose and manage neurological diseases in pets.
The new online resource is run by Dr. Laurent Garosi DVM FRCVS DipECVN EBVS and RCVS and Prof. Simon Platt BVM&S DipACVIM(Neurology) DipECVN FRCVS. Both colleagues work for CVS Group, are specialists in veterinary neurology and Fellows of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by meritorious contribution to clinical practice. They have a combined 50 years of experience.
The launch of the website follows the introduction of their successful Veterinary Neurology Facebook page seven years ago which achieved huge success, with a current 48,000 following across the globe.
The new web-vetneurology.com website incorporates an open access veterinary neurology literature section to provide vets with up-to-date research on all aspects of neurological diagnosis and treatment. It includes the latest and most important papers from around the world, so that vets can stay informed on the latest advances in veterinary neurology.
Web-vetneurology.com also includes a dedicated case study section showing video footage and cross-sectional imaging studies of interesting and illustrative cases. Here new, common and rare cases of clinical neurology presentations seen in cats and dogs are added every month.
The online platform incorporates a webinar section where vets can access a range of free informative webinars covering a variety of topics in veterinary neurology, including diagnosis and therapy. They will provide vets with the latest information and insights from experts in the field and allow vets to stay up-to-date with the latest news.
In addition, two podcast series are included on the site. The first - Neurology for Vets and Pets – aims to demystify veterinary neurology in small ‘bite-sized’ episodes, aiming to keep vets up to date on how to diagnose and treat the most common problems in practice and the clinical signs they will see in their cat and dog patients. The second - Neurology for Specialists - is for vets who have a special interest in neurology, looking at the most challenging neurological problems in dogs and cats, and focusing on the latest publications - often presented by the authors of these studies.
Furthermore, the site hosts an external resources section, featuring; a list of upcoming meetings – where vets can connect with experts and pet lovers to learn the latest in veterinary neuro care; a list of curated useful websites - where vets can discover a wealth of insights and resources in veterinary neurology; and, miscellaneous podcasts covering a variety of topics in the vast world of veterinary neurology.

The new web-vetneurology.com website development has been conducted and supported by PRN Pharmacal in the United States. The company distributes KBroVet CA1, potassium bromide for dogs, an anti-seizure medication.
Moving forward the site will be extended, with new sections including; a Neurology in Practice knowledge section for the busy vet; Clinical Neuroanatomy animated videos and neuroimaging atlases; and a selection of useful resources for pet owners.
