New Neurosurgery Masterclass From Improve International Set To Run In January 2021
Veterinary CPD specialist Improve International is to run a three-day masterclass on neurosurgery at its state-of-the-art veterinary wet-lab training facility in Sheffield from 27-29 January 2021. The masterclass will provide veterinary surgeons with some experience in neurology with the opportunity to develop their skills under the guidance of three experienced neurosurgeons, Dr Andrew Craig, Dr Harry Scott and Dr Nadia Shihab.
The masterclass, which will be 50% lectures and 50% practical, aims to equip delegates with the knowledge and confidence to perform a range of procedures, including routine hemilaminectomies, corpectomies and ventral slots. It will also offer a grounding in lumbosacral stabilisation, thoracolumbar fractures, disc associated wobblers syndrome and atlantoaxial subluxation.
One of the world’s leading veterinary training companies, Improve International was founded by a team of UK vets and has trained more than 20,000 veterinary professionals in 20 countries around the world. In the delivery of its programmes, it works closely with its assessment partner, the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS), and with Harper Adams University, which provides the higher education body quality assurance.
Commenting on the Neurosurgery Masterclass, Dr Alison Babington MRCVS, Business Development Coordinator at Improve International, said: “Veterinary neurology is a rapidly developing discipline and this Masterclass course offers delegates and their practices a welcome opportunity to reduce referrals and generate additional revenue by providing the skills in-house to deal with the increasing number of neurological cases.”
The Masterclass is limited to 18 delegates.
Based in Swindon, with an additional facility in Sheffield, Improve International provides high quality CPD in a range of formats for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to help them to develop their skills and knowledge, using a combination of review lectures, case-based discussions and where, applicable, hands-on practical sessions.
