The Team at North West Equine
New Practice Merger Joins XLEquine
New practice venture, North West Equine Vets Ltd, which began trading on 1st February has announced that it’s to join the collaborative member organisation, XLEquine.
North West Equine director, Paul Smith, formerly of Westmorland Vets, believes that the benefits of being formally aligned with like-minded member practices in XLEquine from the outset of the business are significant: “Having been a member with our previous practice since the creation of XLEquine, I know what can be achieved in terms of improved practice efficiencies, skills exchange and training opportunities, and client satisfaction and loyalty,” explains Paul.
As a new business, we see joining the membership as an important part of becoming established as a top equine practice, says Paul. “It’s essential to develop a profitable, efficient business that delivers the highest level of client care, and we believe that joining XLEquine will help us to achieve this,” adds Paul
North West Equine becomes the 31st member of the group which was originally established in 2005 from equine members of the original XLVets group of farm and mixed practices. XLEquine business manager, Dr Emma Batson, is delighted that such a forward thinking proactive practice has joined the group: “The XLEquine business model provides both its members and their clients with all the benefits of scale and access to professional expertise, along with the independence provided by private practice.
“We are thrilled that a progressive practice such as North West Equine has joined the group as we know they will bring as much to the membership as they benefit from it, so it’s a win win for everyone!” concludes Emma.
North West Equine is the result of a merger of the equine departments of the Dalehead and Westmorland Veterinary Groups and will operate from branch practices in all three of its current sites at Rathmell, Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal. The new practice a team of eight experienced equine vets will cover the area from Ambleside and Windermere in the north to Poulton le Fylde in the South and then over to Grassington and Keighley areas in the east.
