New Tutors Support Growth Of VMG/ILM Veterinary Leadership And Management Awards
Five veterinary leaders have joined the VMG tutor team to support students of their Award, Certificate and Diploma in Veterinary Leadership & Management, reflecting growing demand for the qualifications from across the veterinary sector.
The new tutors have been deliberately drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds. Consultant and author Clive Elwood brings his expertise in clinical leadership; Caroline Pearson is a highly respected coach and speaker while Lisa Cooper has a wealth of experience in veterinary nursing and charity hospital management. Mike Kitchen and Catherine Grimsey are both graduates of the CVLM so have in-depth knowledge of what is needed to succeed, as well as their own unique perspectives to bring: Mike as an overseas student, and Cath in equine practice, both of which were specifically sought.
The new tutors will work with Course Director Dr Hannah Perrin to deliver coaching and support to students undertaking the online qualifications, designed to equip and empower 21st century veterinary leaders. Dr Perrin said, “We have been thrilled with the growth of our flagship qualifications over the past year and I’m so pleased to be able to bring such high-calibre tutors on board. We want our tutor team to reflect the diversity of our students, and future participants will benefit hugely from their knowledge, skills and experience”.
The VMG now admits four cohorts per year to meet the increased demand. Launched in 2020 by the Veterinary Management Group (VMG), the VMG/ILM Level 5 Award, Certificate and Diploma are modular qualifications, with an emphasis on flexibility, accessibility, and real-world relevance; enabling participants from the UK and around the world to build a qualification to suit their role, their ambitions, and their areas of interest. The qualifications have recently been re-accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, with the inspectors specifically commending the “excellent support and feedback given by the tutors”.
The VMG is the professional association for all those in leadership and management roles in the veterinary sector. It empowers and equips veterinary leaders and their organisations to learn, share, and grow.
The Institute of Leadership & Management is a professional membership body for leaders and managers and is the UK’s leading provider of leadership qualifications. Its purpose is improving leadership development, both in the UK and worldwide, ensuring businesses and individuals are equipped for the working world now and in the future.
The Winter 2022 cohort is now fully booked and VMG is currently registering students to commence in the new year. More information is available here: www.vetmg.com/cvlm.
