Central Qualifications (CQ) is seeking nominations for its 2026 Veterinary Nurse Educator of the Year Awards.

Now in its ninth year, the awards celebrate the commitment and hard work of staff who support veterinary nursing students, recognising their talent, skill and dedication. They are open to anyone involved in training and educating veterinary nurses in the UK, with the winners nominated by students and fellow professionals.

The awards will be presented during the CQ Graduation and Awards Ceremony at Central Hall, Westminster, on Saturday, 28 March 2026. The event will celebrate the achievements of staff and students, including a keynote speech from wildlife photographer and filmmaker, Gordon Buchanan.

CQ Director Jacqui Garrett said: “We’re delighted to celebrate the Veterinary Nurse Educator of the Year Awards once again. The awards are a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on the individuals who go above and beyond in training the next generation of veterinary nurses. I would encourage anyone who has been inspired by their tutor or colleague to submit a nomination and help us recognise their contribution to the veterinary nursing profession.”

Last year’s recipient was Matt Badham, a veterinary nursing lecturer at Plumpton College. Matt was described by his students as passionate, enthusiastic and inspiring, with one nominator writing: ‘Students love him and he shares happiness and enthusiasm in everything he does.’
