Visitors to Norbrook’s stand at the UK Dairy Day in September will have the chance to win one of five MooCall calving sensors worth £240 each.

Leigh Sullivan, Norbrook Product Manager – Large Animals, says the MooCall device has been instrumental in the safe birth of more than 250,000 calves with the farmer on site by providing them with a one-hour advance warning of calving via text or email.

Farmers can also enter the competition at The Dairy Show and The Welsh Dairy Show later this year, where Norbrook’s advisors will be on hand to showcase parasite control solution, Eprizero Pour On, and promote the Eprizero Bulk Milk Tank (BMT) testing scheme.

“Eprizero is a pour-on solution for beef and dairy cattle for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, warbles and treatment of mange mites, lice – biting and sucking – and horn flies. The solution has a zero hour milk withdrawal period and 10-day meat withdrawal period.  It can also be used at any stage of lactation.”

Dr Sullivan says it is estimated that outbreaks of lungworm cost £50-£100[1] per head in cattle, and lost milk production cost in adults can reach £3 per cow per day, resulting in losses of millions of pounds for the UK herd annually.

Entry forms will be available from the Norbrook stand at major livestock shows in summer and autumn, including UK Dairy Day (12th September), The Dairy Show (3rd October) and Welsh Dairy Show (30th October).

Farmers simply fill in the form answering one question correctly – how many days’ persistency does Eprizero provide against lungworm?

Closing date for entries is the 31st of October 2018, and winners will be notified by 16th of November 2018. Terms and conditions apply.

Norbrook offers complimentary BMT testing. For more details, contact your vet or animal health advisor.
